Lip fillers are fast becoming one of the most popular procedures in the world of cosmetic treatments. At our Harley Street Practice, we aim to provide our patients the results they desire, ensuring that they are happy and safe at every stage.
There are a number of a reasons why a potential patient may wish to enhance the appearance of their lips, with the main being to have fuller, younger looking lips. In many cases, our patients have lost some of the volume, structure, or shape of their lips due to aging. Lip fillers Harley Street can reverse this change by filling out lips.
Lip Fillers – What happens during treatment?
Lip filler injections by Rupesh work by restoring volume, enhancing the contours and redefining the outline of your lips.
The treatment at our Harley Street Clinic itself takes between 30-45 minutes. Rupesh will give a dental block so there is no pain. The procedure involves a series of injections into the lip area with an ultra-fine needle for minimal discomfort.
The Lip Filler product (Juvederm or Teosyl) that we will recommend will depend on the look that you are trying to achieve.

Advice Prior to Treatment
- Avoid the use of alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
- Ensure that you let Rupesh know of any medications that you are taking, but especially if you have recently taken Warfarin, aspirin or any other anti-coagulant medication. The chance of bruising or bleeding may be increased with these medications.
- We do not recommend treatment if you are on a course of antibiotics.
- We cannot treat patients who have taken the medication Roaccutane within the last 6 months.
Following Treatment
After every procedure, we will give you very comprehensive aftercare advice. However, if anything is not clear or you forget anything, here are a few reminders:
- Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and/or itching near the injection site. This is normal and generally disappears within a few hours to several days.
- Avoid touching the area for at least 12 hours and avoid applying make-up to the area for 12 hours.
- 100% mineral make-up can be applied immediately after the procedure.
- Avoid alcohol consumption for 12 hours.
- Avoid vigorous aerobic exercise for 24 hours.
- A clean cool pack can be applied directly to the treated area to reduce any swelling. If you experience any discomfort you may also take any painkiller that you normally take, but please note ibuprofen, aspirin or other anti-coagulant medications may increase or prolong the bruising.
- If you get any bruising you may apply arnica cream.
- If you are prone to cold sores (herpes) around the mouth, and this area has been treated, you may experience a breakout. If this occurs, you may want to apply acyclovir cream for a few days following treatment.
- Avoid extreme sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures, steam rooms and saunas for 2 weeks.
- When the lips are injected the initial swelling and tenderness may last a little longer, sometimes taking up to a week to settle and the lips may look and feel slightly uneven during this time.
