BOTOX TREATMENT PREPARATION FOR MEN:
When you arrive at our Harley Street Clinic for your BOTOX® Injection treatment, you will first greeted by our Receptionist. Rupesh will come and recieve you and take you to his clinic room. You will be asked to fill out patient information and other forms before you start to discuss your expectations for the procedure. At this time, it is important to be honest about any allergies or other conditions that may not make you a good candidate for BOTOX® treatment.

DURING BOTOX TREATMENT FOR MEN:
Rupesh will decide where to administer the BOTOX® injections by asking you to contract certain facial muscles. Based on your desired results and your ability to move these facial muscles, he will mark the locations to be treated. Any discomfort from the injections is usually minimal and lasts only a short time. The actual BOTOX® LONDON Injection treatment typically takes about 10 minutes. Men have larger muscles hence they always require almost double the doses of what we administer women.

BOTOX RESULTS AND TIME IT LASTS IN MEN:
You should see a noticeable improvement in the treated areas within a few days after having the BOTOX® procedure, and the appearance of wrinkles should continue to improve for up to a month. BOTOX® treatment results in men typically last up to three to four months.

CAN YOU EXCERCISE AFTER BOTOX?

There are two reasons not to exercise right after Botox treatments. You are allowed to resume exercise, for the most part except in special cases, the following day.
Exercise increases circulation in the body, including the face, which is why your face flushes and gets red when you work out. This increased circulation increase the risk that the Botox will be taken away from the injection zone before it gets fully absorbed into the neuromuscular junction.
Hence: 1) it may leave less Botox where we want it, and possibly decrease the effect, and 2) we do not want to do anything that increases the risk that the Botox will act anywhere other than where it is intended.

WHERE DOES BOTOX COME FROM?

Botox derives from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium is present in many natural settings, including soil, lakes, forests, and in the intestinal tracts of mammals and fish.

Naturally occurring Clostridium botulinum bacteria and spores are generally harmless. Problems only arise when the spores transform and the cell population increases. At a certain point, the bacteria begin producing botulinum toxin, the deadly neurotoxin responsible for botulism.

Botulinum toxin is extremely toxic. In fact, some scientists have estimated that 1 gram (g) of crystalline toxin could kill 1 million people and a couple of kilograms could kill every human on earth.

However, according to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, (AOCD), Botox is safe and has few side effects when used in a therapeutic context.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?

WHAT BOTOX AFTERCARE SHOULD BE FOLLOWED AFTER TREATMENT WITH RUPESH AT HARLEY STREET CLINIC, LONDON?

Try to contract the treated muscle areas for up to four hours after treatment, by frowning and lifting eyebrows to allow the toxin to reach all of the treated muscle.

Avoid rubbing or touching the injected areas and avoid having facials and massage for 48 hours this is to ensure that the treatment remains at the site of injection.

Avoid vigorous exercise and alcohol-based products on the area treated for 48 hours.

If bruising develops the you can apply Arnica cream

Paracetamol can be taken for mild pain post procedure
