What is Dermaroller?
Dermaroller is a medical roller with hundreds of micro-skin needles arranged around it. It is oftern named micro needling for this reason. As the Dermaroller is passed across the skin it causes small micro punctures in the skin surface that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin
What areas can I have Dermaroller?
If you suffer from acne scars, hyper pigmentation or aged skin then Dermaroller could be for you. Stereotypically your face is the main platform for dermaroller. But you can have the treatment done in any part of the body by a medical practitioner like Rupesh, based in Harley Street, London.
Is there any downtimeafter Dermaroller Treatment?
Depending on how sensitive your skin is will depend on how long you may need to rest – it will cause redness but you will not feel a lot of pain
Who carries out the Dermaroller treatment?
Rupesh will carry out the consultation and then will carry out this treatment
Will I see results straight away after Dermaroller?
One session you would be able to see some change. It is advised to do multiple sessions to achieve the best results
What can Medical Microneedling (dermaroller) treat?
Medical micro-needling is a great treatment for most skin types and for specific conditions including:
-
Pigmentation
-
Open pores and congested skin
-
Scarring from acne and chicken pox
-
Eliminating fine lines and wrinkles even in difficult areas
-
Stretch marks resulting from pregnancy
What Happens in the Dermaroller treatment?
Rupesh will apply the topical anaesthetic, if required, to your skin 30 to 45 minutes prior to the treatment to make the treatment painless. It will usually take up to 45 minutes for the numbing cream to work.
Rupesh will use a professional medical grade DermaPen to pass your skin 15-20 times in horizontal, vertical, and oblique directions on the different areas of the face. The rolling will produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often in the same day.
The entire treatment should take 10 to 20 minutes, depending on size of the area to be treated. A minimum of 4 weeks is recommended between two treatments as it takes that long for new natural collagen to form
How many DermaRoller Treatments will i need?
We recommend a minimum of 3 treatments for general rejuventation and at least 5 for acne scarring. Treatments are performed 4 weeks apart
