What is Botox?
Botox is the purified toxin formed by the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. A miniscule amount of Botulinum Toxin protein injected into a muscle prevents the normal nerve impulses and stops the muscle from contracting.

How Does Botox Work?
Once injected into a specific muscle, Botox works by causing preventing the muscle from contracting. This in turn stops the formation of the dynamic wrinkle.  Once treated, the patient will still be able to frown and smile, but the skin will look fresher and less wrinkled.

From 2 to 3 days after treatment you will start to notice the Botox working, but it will take up to two weeks to reach it’s full effect.

Whatever your requirements for treatment, whether you want to give yourself a brow lift to look more refreshed and awake, or treat frown lines, the Rupesh has the expertise to give you the best Botox results in London.

Botox is the most commonly used brand name  for the medicine: Botulinum Toxin A. Other brands commonly used include Dysport, Xeomin and Vistabel. Regardless of the brand the aim is to achieve the same result but the mode of action varies slightly between the brands. Botox was first used over 16 years ago and is a proven and safe treatment.  It paralyses the small muscles in a specific area preventing wrinkle formation. This paralysis is temporary and lasts for a period of a few months.

Common Botox Treatment Areas:
Forehead Lines
11′s or Glabellar Lines (Frown)
Crow’s Feet (side of the eyes)
Infra-orbital lines (below the eyes – subject to skin condition)
Chin puckering
Peri-oral lip lines (lipstick bleed lines – sometimes combined with dermal fillers)

How do I prepare for Botox  treatment?
Just do your normal daily activities. After treatment there may be a small amount of redness in the area depending on skin-type but it quickly subsides.

Who can have Botox?
Botox Treatment can be used for treating wrinkles in men and women, however men often need slightly higher doses than women.

Who should not have Botox?
Women who are pregnant or breast feeding.

People with muscle problems or chronic diseases affecting the muscles, such as Myasthenia Gravis, Eaton Lambert syndrome.

People with infection at the proposed injection site.

People who have previously had an allergic reaction to Botulinum toxin type A injections.

Children under the age of 18 year.

How is Botox administered?
The Botox is injected using very fine needles so there is no scarring and you can resume your usual activities immediately after treatment. Rupesh administers BOTOX at his Harley Street, Lonodon Clinic.

Are there side effects of Botox?
The needles used for Botox injections are very fine and approximately the same diameter as coarse human hair. The discomfort associated with this treatment is mild and no local anaesthetic is required.

You will be able to carry out all of your usual daily activities immediately after your injections, including driving.

Patients with more delicate skin often have some redness at the injection sites immediately after treatment but this will subside over the next hour or so. You may also develop slight bruising at the injection sites, however, this is normally very mild and easily covered by light make-up. Otherwise there will be no visible signs of your skincare treatment.

In rare cases, the botox can migrate to nearby muscles, causing some weakness, such as drooping of the upper eyelid. This is a temporary side effect, lasting for a few weeks at most. If you suffer any side-effects we request you contact the clinic immediately so we can offer you advice.
