1. The experience and qualifications of your practitioner.
Make sure you only trust your lip augmentation to a fully qualified MEDICAL specialist who is experienced in giving lip filler injections. Don’t be tempted to go to a beauty salon or beautician at their own home. A suitable practitioner shall only use top products like Juvederm, Restylane, Teoxane for your lips. Make sure they dont use any other "cheap" alternatives.
2. The suitability of your chosen clinic.
The clinic for your Lip Filler consultation and Lip Augmentation treatment should be scrupulously clean. The practitioner should work in surgically sterile conditions and should be qualified to administer a local anaesthetic or a nerve block if required ( our preffered method ), although a numbing cream is often sufficient.
3. Whether you are a suitable candidate for lip augmentation.
You must be over 18 years of age. Certain medical conditions like diabetes, blood clotting disorders and active infection such as cold sores, chest infections etc will be contra-indicated to your treatment. Be sure to tell Rupesh if you have an allergy to any medicines, including local anaesthetics and antibiotics.
4. Potential side effects.
Possible side effects include swelling, bleeding, tenderness and reactivation of cold sores. More serious, prolonged side effects can include lip asymmetry, infection and scarring. We may need to remove your lip filler if any of the above occur.
5. Is any preparation required prior to lip filler?
Make sure you are well and not feeling under the weather. General advice would be to avoid tablets which can thin the blood, such as aspirin, in order to reduce the risk of severe bruising.
