Coronavirus Update

The safety of our patients and staff is always our number one priority and, during this pandemic, so too is the well-being of the entire nation. With the recent slowing in the spread of the virus, and the subsequent easing of Government restrictions we have decided to reopen. To minimise risk to both patients and staff we have not rushed into this.

We have undertaken extensive risk assessments specific to Covid-19 based on our clinic and up to date scientific evidence. These have resulted in both physical and operational changes in our Harley Street clinic with safety as the top consideration. These changes will inevitably have some negative impact on our normal patient experience but crucially will not impact on the safety, effectiveness and outcome of the treatments. We ask you to bear with us through the next few months of disruption of normal service.

We are confident that with the measures we are introducing and the naturally low footfall and focus on infection control of our clinic that the risk of contracting Covid-19 on our premises is now exceptionally low.

We have introduced measures (following Public Health England and Health and Safety Executive guidance) to minimise the risk of transmission of the virus to patients or to our staff.

These measures that impact patients include but are not limited to:
• No patient, staff member or other visitor will be permitted in the clinic if they, or a member of their household, has symptoms of Covid-19

• On booking your appointment you will be asked a series of questions to ascertain if you, or anyone in your household, are likely to be carrying the virus and if so we will delay booking your appointment until it is safe for us all

• If you, or anyone in your household, develops symptoms between booking your appointment and the day of your appointment, you must call us and we will reschedule your appointment

• Your temperature will be checked on arrival at the clinic by an infrared thermometer. If your temperature is high, or you show any other symptoms of Covid-19 we will need to reschedule your appointment

• You are encouraged to take your temperature before travelling to the clinic to avoid an unnecessary trip if it’s found to be high on arrival.

• Only one patient will be allowed in the clinic at one time

• You must attend the clinic on your own. No companion will be allowed into the clinic.

• You are encouraged not to use public transport

• You should wear a face covering

• Refreshments in clinic will be no longer be served. Water will be available in disposable plastic cups however patients are encouraged to bring their own water bottle

• Magazines and newspapers have been removed

• Social distancing measures will be enforced in the clinic where possible

• Staff will wear PPE including face masks

• Close contact time will be minimised which may impact on casual conversation

• Extra cleaning procedures have been introduced and additional time will be scheduled between appointments to enable these.

• Glass screens have been installed between receptionists and patients

• Tape has been placed on floors to indicate social distancing positions

• The use of lifts is discouraged but if you do need to use, please do so alone or with members of your household only

• Clinically extremely vulnerable people (see the Government’s Covid-19 vulnerable groups) must following shielding guidance by staying at home at all times and avoiding all non-essential face-to-face contact

• Clinically vulnerable patients (e.g. people aged 70 or older, people with liver disease, people with diabetes, pregnant women) are advised to follow Government advice to stay at home as much as possible

See more information on the NHS website link: Who’s at Higher Risk from Coronavirus?

• Remote consultations are offered to reduce physical contact

• Signage has been put up to remind you of all these procedures
